Well, here it is. A WordPress plugin for the Hype Machine. A while back I suggested to the HypeM team that they develop a plugin to allow users to list their current ‘loved’ tracks. I have yet to see one (but I’m about as patient as a 5 year old waiting for Christmas), however I have been told they will be working on one shortly. So i created my own plugin. Personally I will only be using the ‘loved tracks’, but I have included all of the features that their current javascript ‘widgets’ will allow you to do. This hypemachine widget will do the following
- Display X number of loved tracks
- Display X number of tracks from your loved feeds
- Display X number of recent tracks
- Display X number of popular tracks
- Display X number of now playing tracks
In a future release you’ll be able to do more like order the above listings, or anything else that HypeMachine users think would be useful. Suggestions welcome.

After looking over my logs it appears that a large number of people visit my site through google images for different pictures that I have posted from time to time. Thats all fine and dandy, but what I want to know is, what are people searching for that they’re stumbling upon some of these. For example, about a month ago one of my top images that google kept providing to people was the picture from the not-so-famous “Ten Dollar Turd” post. Another popular image as of late has been one of me wading through the water in my boxers after fetching my boat one summer morning. And one of the other more recently popular images is of one of the other vehicles that was in the car accident with me last year.
So what is it that people are searching for when they end up running into these images? My logs only point that the referral was from google images, and no search term is provided. However when I receive referrals from yahoo, google, or other search engines it will generally strip the keywords that were searched for and present them to me. And if it doesn’t I can usually find it encoded in the URL somewhere. Google images does no such things. I’m not trying to drive more pointless traffic to my blog, I’m just kind of curious as to what keywords one would have to provide in order to come up with a picture of a ten dollar bill embedded into a dog turd…

Yes 2 holidays in a row. Can you believe it?! Yes today was World Kindness Day. What does that mean to you and me? I have no idea, I’m just using this post to draw your attention away from the previous post which didn’t go over very well (and I can’t say I expected it to) Not interested in World Kindness Day? Well you’re in luck. Today is also Indian Pudding Day. Yeah you heard right, it’s Indian Pudding Day. Not interested in indian pudding? Well it is also Whoopi Goldbergs birthday. That’s practically a holiday right?
Change of subjet. You may have noticed a lot of errors on my page lately, comments not posting properly, or the page not even loading. I’ve been working on some back end things, and corrected most of the probems. You can now go on enjoying my site for what it is. Pure unadulterated bull plop.

Well do you? If they’ve passed away, were injured somehow, or were drafted then think of them, thank them for what they’ve done. If you know someone that is actively serving, well good for them, but do they deserve your thanks? I haven’t decided yet. When was the last time someone thanked me for doing the job that I signed up to do. Maybe we need a baker, database administrator, or a school teachers day. Everyone has a job that they chose to do, why don’t these people have a national holiday?
Yes I understand that they’re a different line of work, but whats the difference.
EDIT: More thoughts
This post is not intended to offend anyone. It’s just thoughts. You are free to express your own, and I mine. The reason I posted about this was what I was seeing on the news. All of the stories about the local soldiers who are out serving somewhere, and I thought why do they need a special day. I’m not against vet’s day, I just dont agree with the local spin. This is these peoples’ jobs, they chose them. I’m glad I dont’ have to do it, but then again I went to school to do something I wanted to do. These people chose to be in the military. Last time I checked there wasn’t a draft instated and no one was forced via gun point to join.
