Well, it finally happend. I am a home owner. Not everything went as smoothly as possible. I was set to close at 10 AM last friday. I didn’t end up closing till around 1 PM later that day. Here’s the brief version of what happened… AC wasn’t totally working right, My realtor mentioned it, Other realtor/sellers made my realtor cry, AC Guy said yes there IS something wrong, Sellers agreed to fix the (controler board) problem Matt gets a house. As for the lack of updates, get used to it. I dont have internet, or TV yet. Special thanks to all of my house cleaners, painters, Yard workers, and movers (Scott, Lori, Sarah, Brian, Rodd, Krystal, Tim, Amanda, Pete, Andi, Nick, Becky, and Esther) If I forgot someone, I’m sorry, as I do appreciate all of the help, and was VERY surprised by the surprise birthday lunch (complete w/ twice baked potatos, ice cream cake, beverages, salads, chips, and one big ass T-Bone steak )and house warming gifts.
On another note, It’s good to see such a big turn out on the last free for all post. Oh, and I got 12 stitches in my wrist the week before, and I have a couple pictures but I can’t get them as my phone apparently does not enjoy being submerged in river water.

Yes, as the youngsters say “Holla Back” It’s a slow news day here in Cedar Falls Iowa. So I thought I’d have an open mic post. I know I have readers that rarely (never) post comments on my blog entries. Not that I can blame you. My entries aren’t that interesting and quite frankly I woudln’t want to argue with me if you disagree on one of them. So, I want to hear from the readers. Post whatever you like. There will be no moderation of the comments (except for clarifying if a link is safe for work, or not safe for work).
Comment Ideas:
- Just say Hi
- Post a funny or interesting link (preferably with a description as I would rather not click a link and be led to porn while at work)
- Use my Comments to link (spam) to your own personal blog, or create a short ‘blog entry’ of your own
- Let me know what you’d like to see on my blog, (more pictures i take when I’m out and about, less bitching and moaning about things, more random posts/thoughts etc.)
Note: There WILL be house updates in the future once I get more info from; my realtor, the bank, the other realtor, and Chuck Norris.

The other day I was thinking to myself how much my clothes sucks compared to when I was younger. Now i have worn out polo’s and khaki’s, a pair of Adidas shoes that have lived longer than any pair ever should, and enough free T-Shirt to cloth all of those poor naked children that Sally Struthers keeps begging me to give a cup of coffee per day to.
So, you’re probably asking yourself, What clothes is FUNctional? Here a quick list of things I owned at one time or another, and still wish I did.
HyperColor T-Shirt.These things were GREAT. They changed colors if someone with Hot hand touched you in the right spots (although I often times found myself pulling my shirt up and just blowing hot air on it, apparently I wasn’t popular enough to be touched) . I recall the shirt I had was a man in a business suit and when he got hot the jacket and pants disappeared to reveal Bermuda shorts and a T-Shirt. He was soo fly!
Zubaz Pants. Now, these things didn’t really DO anything except for make grown-ups cringe. How could one go wrong with multicolored zebra striped pants? These went with just about any shirt I could find simply because nothing really matched them so no use trying to coordinate an “outfit” (hey when you’re little you had outfits) And it wasn’t just us crazy kids that wore them, NFL stars, WWF wrestlers, as well as your local Roid Raging weight lifter buddies(most still probably do!)
LA Lights. Shoes with lights in them, makes sense to me… These were probably the heaviest pair of shoes that I ever owned. When I got them I made sure to keep the shoe box level on the ride home so I didn’t wear out the batteries. Mine were Black and were the first series available. The first run production of these shoes were setup with a mercury switch inside that completed the circuit when the person wearing the shoes stepped. Needless to say they stopped putting mercury in them because well… IT”S POISON! I do recall after my shoes wore out my older brother and I dismantled them and took the mercury out. I wonder what we did with it?
ReeBok Pumps. Possibly the most bad ass shoes ever! Not only did they have SHAQ! plastered all over them, they had some sort of Hexagonal Goo fused into the soles, and had pumps in the tounges. I remember that these things looked like moonboots on me (I have little legs, so sue me) The weight of these ‘Basketball shoes’ was only rivaled by the LA Lights I owned earlier in life. I can’t imagine anyone other than Shaq himself being able to carry himself up and down the court while wearing these monsters.
So, does stuff this good exist anymore, or am I just too mature to notice it?

EDIT: I thought of something else that should have made the list that I had. I had a baseball hat (Bears/NFL actually) but it was the kind that tightened around on the back with 2 strings and what looked to be a shoe lace biter thing. Unfortunately I can’t find a picture of it, so if you don’t remember me wearing one when I was a child, or didn’t have one yourself, you’re SOL.
