Well today was another one of apples over-hyped events. A total of 2 main products were presented. 1. The new INTEL mac mini. Offered in a single core processor for 599 or a dual core for 799. What the hell are they thinking. A single core INTEL priced $100 more than the current 1.5ghz G4 model? Of course there is the debate that the 1.5 G4 is slower than the single core 1.5 but until apps are compiled for Intel and don’t use Rosetta I dont think any of that real speed will show. And the extra $100 dollars, what is that going towards, the faster processor (that’s debatable) extra USB ports, optical audio out, and a chinsey 6 button IR remote. PASS!
The 2nd item released today, iPod HiFi. What is this marvelous product. It’s a dock that your ipod sits in and plays music through the built in speakers. Sure, these already existed, but now you can pay 349.99 for an apple branded one. HOOORAAAY
Now you’re probably thinking to yourself. This guy is just a Mac hater. Absolutely not! I currently own a G4 iBook, Power Mac, and actually own a few shares of the company(which don’t come cheap). So why the hate? Because I think apple feels they can release a beautifully designed turd and sell it, or at least thats what they seem to be doing with todays new product releases. But if you like nicely polished turds, I suggest you go pick up one of each and help my stock out

So, yesterday on my way home for lunch I saw something that for some reason disgusted me. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not a nature freak, tree hugging, baby beluga loving, hippy, but this just got to me for some reason. So, I’m driving by burger king and I see this white pontiac just finish placing an order and pulling around the building to pay. I see her roll her window down and throw out what looks to be an extra large Cup full of a strawberry shake. Now, she not only dumps the contents of the cup out the window onto the ground, but then throws the cup as well. But apparently that wasn’t enough because she found something else to throw out. I’m not sure what item number two was but she made sure to throw it’s contents on the ground before throwing away the container (also on the ground) that it was in. At first I wanted to drive over and smack her in the face, but I thought about it on my drive home (because that’s what I do) that even though she through her multiple pieces of trash out the window she probably couldn’t of chosen a better place to do it. Think about it, if they were driving down the highway and chucked a bunch of trash out the window, it would probably blow around and lay out in a field somewhere, however because she chose the Burger King parking lot it will probably be picked up within the next 3 hours. Still, I hate her no less.

Well it’s that time of year again. The time of year that most Men dread. It can make or break a relationship. So, what should someone get their ‘sweetie’ on this most glorious of man made commercial holidays? Here is a quick little list to help get you started.
- Nothing says I love you like a handfull of “Conflict Diamonds”
Yes it’s true, your sweetie will know how much you really care when she receives a handful of the gemstones that help support rebel armies and fueled civil wars in Angola, Liberia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
- GOLD Macaroni Picture Frame
She will drop to her knees (in joy) upon receiving this high dollar item. Don’t feel it is necessary to include a portrait of yourself, she knows you dont have any. If you really feel like you need to put a picture in the frame, get out and get your box of 16 Color Crayola’s and draw a nice portrait (You’ll have to use Yellow as the ‘peach’ color is not included in the 16 pack)
- A beautiful “Valentines Day Tree” care of the lovely people at Giftco.
Ok, so it’s a Christmas Tree, but the two of you can spend countless hours cursing and swearing at the tree that just refuses to grow. But if it does decide to sprout you will have yourselves a coniferous love child. How Romantic!
Now, as for me what do I want for valentines day. If I was drinking, I’d say a nice 6 pack and a pizza. But, as I have given that up for the time being, I’ll take pizza and a movie.
Any takers?

Yes, it’s true. If you haven’t heard, I’ve given up drinking… And I’ll tell you what, getting to sleep is harder, but getting up in the morning is a hell of a lot easier. And another thing, Diet rite and herbal tea don’t make figure skating interesting. Wow TV is bad, I never knew. Anywho, there is no time period set for how long I’ve quit drinking, but we’ll just play that by ear.
